The Contributions of New Americans in Indiana

Indiana is one of several states that, in recent decades, have seen a major change in terms of the share of the population comprised of immigrants. As recently as 1990, just 1.7 percent of Indiana’s population was foreign-born. By 2010, that figure had almost tripled, reaching 4.6 percent. And by 2014, close to 5 percent of the state’s population was made up of individuals born in other countries.
