Conservative politicians are at a critical point on the issue of immigration reform. Fixing our broken immigration system is one of the most significant challenges currently facing Congress and the White House. Obama’s trampling of the Constitution and his attempt to rule by decree, disgusting though it is, should not prevent our fixing a broken immigration system.
There is an opportunity here to for conservatives to take the lead. Real immigration reform will drive our economy, add jobs, promote national security and-coincidentally-attract new voters.
The demographics of our population-both here in Pennsylvania and across the nation- are changing. As the number of immigrants in the United States rises, politicians have a new group of constituents to represent. Traditionally, immigrants are typecast as liberal voters, but examining their values tells a different story.
