New York, NY — New American Economy today launched a new ad campaign calling on Congress to act on immigration reform this year. The campaign includes a series of ads that highlight the need for immigration reform across broad sectors of the economy, including technology, business, and agriculture.

The first ad – released today on DC Taxi TV, on television, and online – showcases the role of immigrant-led innovation in the creation of the products and technologies that Americans depend on for their daily lives. The ad will premiere tonight at the PNAE, FWD.us, and U.S. Chamber of Commerce event, “#iCodeImmigration: Accelerating Immigration Reform,” in Washington DC, featuring Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL-25) and Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC-5). The ad will be featured on www.immigrantmade.org alongside 30 everyday products invented by immigrants. Over the next several months, the Partnership will release additional ads highlighting the challenges our broken immigration system presents to industries across the economy.

“America has benefited from immigration throughout its history, but unfortunately, today our immigration laws are more of a drag than a draw,” said New American Economy Chairman John Feinblatt.  “Lack of action on immigration reform is causing American industries to lose their competitive edge, and this ad campaign drives that message home to our leaders in Congress — in their taxis, on their TVs and online.”
